Nettie spent many years serving the public at Olivedale Senior Citizens Center Information and Referral Service, Community Action director, the Recreation Supervisor for the Lancaster Parks and Recreation Department, Mrs. Claus in the Santa in the Park program, Frontier Players, journaling teacher and inspirational speaker. She has touched the lives of so many people with her wisdom, positivity and love of life. Her passions were her children, friends, writing, and helping others live their dreams, find happiness, and spiritual fulfillment. In a family letter, she wrote, "I love teaching. I love giving speeches about what I am learning. I love watching people rise up to their ultimate potential and observe the radiance on their faces when they find their creative self. And everyone does, plus we have so much fun." (September, 1996).
A celebration of Nettie's life will be held Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Alley Park, 2805 Old Logan Road Southeast, Lancaster, Ohio.
In lieu of donations, please celebrate her coming birthday by planting a lilac bush. She would love that.
